Вчера в 9 утра у моих родителей в Москве раздался телефонный звонок. Обратившись к маме по имени-отчеству, звонящая представилась как заведующая городскими (районными?) поликлиниками и сказала: "У меня для Вас плохая новость. Вы можете выслушать тяжелое сообщение?" После чего сообщила: "У Вашего мужа лейкемия 3-й степени." Потом она потребовала к телефону папу и повторила ему то же самое.

Дальше дама объяснила: Мы только что провели проверку поликлиник, и в Вашей карточке был обнаружен анализ крови, который показывает огромный лейкоцитоз (были названы цифры). К сожалению, диагноз однозначен, и прогноз тоже: 3 месяца жизни. - Но я же только что был у своего районного врача, А.Я., и она ничего мне не сказала, - сказал папа, - сейчас я ей позвоню. - У А.Я. большая беда, три дня назад ее мужа убили у подъезда бомжи, А.Я. ушла в отпуск на два месяца. Впрочем мы попробуем соединить Вас с поликлиникой.

Папу соединяют с регистратурой, где ему сообщают, что, кажется, А.Я. еще не на месте, и дальше переводят звонок ей. "А.Я.", взяв трубку, моментально начинает рыдать: простите меня, как я могла его пропусть, простите, я сейчас не в себе, у меня у самой горе, простите меня...

Всего маму с папой держат на телефоне больше двух часов, переводя звонки от одного специалиста к другому, вплоть до зав. онкологическим отделением Кремлевской б-цы. В родителях принимают участие, дают советы, обещают сделать все возможное. Есть врач, который разработал уникальный курс лечения, этот курс на 15 лет продлил жизнь Раисе Максимовне. И наконец -- нехорошо так говорить, но Вам повезло: вчера умерла пациентка из Рязани с таким же диагнозом, так и не начав лечения. Полный курс стоит 360 тыс. руб. Это единственный шанс.

Маме подробно рассказывают диету, которой папе нужно будет придерживаться, и как готовить специальную фруктовую смесь, и как 4 раза в неделю к ним будет приходить на дом медсестра делать уколы, и много чего еще.

Родители к счастью не одни, они вызвали сестру, та помчалась в поликлинику, где выяснилось, что никаких проверок не было, и все названные имена вымышленные. Мама тем временем сама дозвонилась сначала в регистратуру и узнала, что А.Я. ни в какой отпуск не уходит, а потом сестре А.Я. -- слава Богу, муж той жив-здоров. Папу тут же отправили делать контрольный анализ крови, который сегодня, спустя сутки, подтвердил, что с ним все нормально.

Я узнала все это сегодня, позвонив поздравить родителей с 55-летием свадьбы. Папе в этом году исполнится 80, маме 77. Поначалу папа еще сдерживался, потом... Нет, не могу больше.

Если у вас есть пожилые родители, предупредите их.

From the way they are acting around me, something tells me they want me dead so they can split my last remaining assets and money. Hence, I do not trust them anymore, as they seem not to be content with what I have left for them.

The last of my money which is a huge cash deposit that I have with a security firm will be put in your care if only you will agree and are capable of seeing this through. I want you to help me collect this deposit and dispatched it to charity organizations of your choice and let them know that it is I Mr. John Morgan West that is making this generous donation.
